Soil/Habitat

Found in fields, pastures, prairies, railway tracks, roadsides, and abandoned areas. Thrives in a variety of soils from clay to loam.

dry to medium. Once established Rudbeckia are moderately drought and heat resistant.

Notes

Butterflies, bees, and a variety of insects are attracted to flowers for nectar and pollen. Some insects are hoverflies and pirate bugs which are excellent predators of garden pests such as thrips, aphids, and whiteflies. Seeds are enjoyed by birds in the Fall and Winter
